Job summary

Edgewater Federal Solutions seeks a Senior Field Telecom Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain voice gateways, switches, and telecom cabling for a major national laboratory. You will deploy and validate networks, manage VoIP services, and coordinate with contractors to ensure seamless system integration.

You will perform site surveys, cable pulling, patching, and documentation, while following safety regulations and project best practices. U.S.

Qualifications

• BS Diploma and a minimum of 6 years of directly related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Dept. of Energy Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Strong knowledge of VoIP, SIP trunking, and enterprise communication systems (AVAYA).

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute network installations per customer orders and specs.
• Gather equipment and assess sites to ensure deployments.
• Create installation diagrams and establish voice/data networks.
• Install voice gateways and switches; manage copper/fiber cabling.
• Coordinate with contractors for seamless integration of systems.
• Test circuits and equipment; document results and fix issues.
• Track work using the customer ticketing system and ensure safety procedures.
• Support project deployments and migrations; maintain documentation.
