Job summary

Signode Industrial Group in Ohio is seeking a field service technician to install and service general-purpose packaging equipment across customer sites. The Akron/Cleveland area is preferred, with daily travel and overnight stays as part of the role.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, read blueprints, and train Signode technicians while maintaining safety and customer relations. A high school diploma and 4–5 years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of transferable experience.
• Experience working on Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatics, and Hydraulics systems
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• PLC background
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
• Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
• Desirable: Professional course (electrical or mechanical or automation courses).

Responsibilities

• Install and service general-purpose equipment and machines.
• Travel daily by auto with overnight stays.
• Document daily service activities and expenses in the recording system.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical).
• Read and interpret blueprints/schematics for installation and upgrades.
• Provide technical training to Signode Technicians.
• Coordinate pre-installation meetings with customers and review responsibilities.
