Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations and drive successful execution of commercial mechanical construction projects throughout the Washington, DC area.

You will oversee field crews, coordinate with PMs and subs, manage schedules, and ensure safety and quality on site. Strong leadership, scheduling, and drawing interpretation skills are essential for delivering high-quality projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supervising commercial construction projects.
• Commercial HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical, or MEP experience strongly preferred.
• Proven experience leading field teams and managing day-to-day jobsite operations.
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, manpower planning, and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day jobsite operations from project startup through closeout.
• Lead and coordinate field crews, Foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, sequencing, and manpower plans.
• Monitor field productivity and ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
• Coordinate work with Project Managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, general contractors, engineers, and project partners.
• Identify field challenges early and develop solutions to keep projects moving.
