Job summary

ADTRAN, Inc. is seeking a Sales Engineer to support field engagement activities, deliver presentations, assist with lab and field trials, and provide expert technical and sales support across designated territories.

You will work cross-functionally with proposals, marketing and engineering teams, maintain up-to-date knowledge of ADTRAN products, and travel extensively to customer sites and events to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of related experience required.
• Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCDA, and/or Advanced Technology Support Program (ATSP) preferred.
• Extensive travel required: 60%+ out of office, 40%+ overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Direct account and partner responsibilities for assigned territories.
• Maintain a current knowledge base and skills set including; relevant competitive solutions, ADTRAN product specifications, performance criteria, end-user applications, and customer requirements.
• Provide technical and sales support including demonstrations, evaluations, and training for accounts in assigned territory and perform technical presentations for customers, partners, and prospects.
• Assist in the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities.
• Work cross-functionally with Proposals, Marketing, Corporate, Engineering, etc. to ensure information is consistently up-to‑date and accurate.
• Participate in strategic meetings with cross-functional members to identify client requirements and product direction.
• Maintain a current knowledge base of ADTRAN brand and product strengths/weaknesses.
• Ensure the final deliverable product is functional and meets customers’ needs, upholding the ADTRAN brand.
