Job summary

GCI Communication Corp. is seeking a Field Service Technician III to install, service, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment in customers’ homes and businesses across Alaska.

The role includes mentoring junior technicians and supporting senior staff with complex service orders while maintaining safety standards and vehicle/stock management. The position offers a $2,500 hiring bonus and requires strong problem solving, RF knowledge, and excellent customer communication.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary training is a plus.
• Minimum 4 years in broadband, data, networking, or telecom field service roles preferred.
• Must be able to troubleshoot complex video, voice, and data services and support field installations.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment from demarc or tap to customer premises.
• Perform routine maintenance and testing on RF, analog, microwave, fiber, and electrical components.
• Mentor junior technicians and assist senior staff with complex installations and service orders.
• Maintain safety and compliance with company policies, including vehicle maintenance and stock management.
