Job summary

ABB in New Jersey seeks an experienced field service engineer to perform on-site troubleshooting, installation, commission, maintenance and upgrades of critical power equipment. You will coach technicians, prepare material lists, and drive customer satisfaction while identifying improvements to products and processes.

Applicants should have 6+ years in electrical power servicing (or 8+ with an associate degree), strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office and project tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 6+ years servicing critical power equipment, or an Associate degree with 8+ years.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Proficient with MS Office; capable of project management using MS Project or Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service tasks and on-site troubleshooting within certified areas.
• Install, commission, maintain, repair, retrofit and upgrade critical power equipment.
• Coach and supervise technicians; train team members and customers as needed.
• Prepare material lists and ensure quality standards for parts and equipment.
• Identify equipment failures and propose corrective actions; pursue customer-satisfaction goals.
