Job summary

Herc Rentals in Austin, TX is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A for ProSolutions (Generators, Pumps & HVAC) to support customers on local job sites. You are a master technician leading knowledge and quality standards within the branch.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair heavy equipment, test systems, and generate detailed service reports while building positive relationships with customers on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Capable of operating and testing heavy equipment listed in duties.
• Able to read schematics, manuals and warning labels.
• Own a selection of basic hand and power tools for repairs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and perform preventive maintenance on Herc fleet at customer sites.
• Experience with oil changes, lubrication, tire work and repairs.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to keep sites running.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic and propane systems.
• Return equipment to safe working condition and document work.
• Educate customers on proper equipment use to prevent breakdowns.
• Prepare detailed service reports and logs.
