Job summary

ABB is seeking a field service engineer to perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment, reporting to the Service Manager. The role supports remote work arrangements and requires strong field experience in Power Delivery equipment.

Key duties include leading outages with other engineers, coordinating project management, writing technical reports, and preparing quotes and job status updates for customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 8 years of related engineering/field experience; additional formal education may substitute.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%.
• US work authorization to ABB.
• Experience in repair/refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers preferred.
• Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment.
• Lead outages with other field engineers, technicians, and contractors; manage project aspects and prepare reports and quotations.
• Plan, prepare, and/or instruct internal/external training programs to impart field engineering knowledge.
• Prepare technical reports, secure quotations, and manage job status and time/expense reporting.
