Job summary

ABB is seeking a field engineer to lead hands-on installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of Power Delivery equipment in a remote work arrangement. You will coordinate outages, manage materials and quotations, and deliver technical reports while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes planning, training, and meticulous documentation, with travel up to 75% and a focus on LV/MV circuit breakers and medium voltage machinery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 8 years of related engineering / field experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Experience in repair/refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers preferred.
• Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment.
• Lead outages with field engineers, technicians, and contractors including project management and site reporting.
• Plan and instruct internal and external training programs to impart field engineering/product knowledge.
• Prepare technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, and manage job status and time/expense reporting.
