Job summary

Signode Industrial Group in Akron, OH is seeking a Sr. Field Service Technician to install, service and train customers on a broad range of industrial packaging equipment.

The role requires daily auto travel with frequent overnight stays and a strong background in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, plus PLC knowledge. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot complex issues, document activities, and coordinate with customers and internal teams to ensure safe, reliable

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of transferable field service experience.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, pneumatics and hydraulics systems.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• PLC background and troubleshooting skills.
• Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Install and service general‑purpose equipment and provide training.
• Travel daily by auto with frequent overnight stays.
• Document daily service activities and expenses accurately.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic functions.
• Coordinate pre‑installation meetings and ensure safety and site readiness.
