Job summary

Rivian Automotive seeks a Senior Field Service Technician to act as a technical expert and leader in diagnosing and repairing high‑level vehicle issues, both in service centers and in field settings. The role requires mentoring junior technicians, driving continuous improvement, and occasionally traveling to production plants to provide advanced support.

The position features a Monday–Friday schedule with Saturdays on rotation, and a 15% night-pay differential (6pm–6am).

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Graduation from automotive repair program preferred.
Minimum age 21+ with valid driver's license.
Ability to travel to regional locations as needed.
Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
State mechanic certifications where required by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, and inspections in service centers and field settings.
Provide high-level diagnostic guidance and remote troubleshooting for field teams.
Lead, mentor, and coach junior technicians and cross-functional partners.
Utilize specialized diagnostic tools to resolve HV, LV, and network faults.
Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive continuous improvement.
Manage parts operations including ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing.
Document findings and provide actionable feedback to engineering and leadership.
