Job summary

Empower Rental Group is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician (Heavy Equipment) in Spartanburg, SC. You will respond to urgent service calls, diagnose complex issues, and repair a diverse fleet while operating with a high degree of autonomy from a fully equipped service truck.

You will drive preventative maintenance, assist the shop as needed, and provide exceptional customer service on-site, with opportunities for advancement in a fast-growing organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy construction equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive company vehicles as needed.
• Excellent customer service skills for internal and external customers.
• Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and manage priorities.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostics, powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficient with modern diagnostics tools and mobile technology for work orders and documentation.
• Own set of comprehensive mechanical tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to perform urgent service calls, complex diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet of heavy equipment.
• Manage and stock your company-provided service truck to be prepared for any challenge.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and routine inspections at customer locations.
• Utilize a company laptop/tablet to manage work orders, look up parts, and document repairs.
• Communicate with customers on-site, provide updates, and train them on equipment use.
• Assist in-house shop with more complex repairs and mentor other technicians.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a safe work environment.
