Job summary

Taylor Construction Equipment seeks a Field Service Mechanic to develop customer relations and deliver prompt aftermarket support. You will work with the Service Supervisor, assemble and train operators, and report activity and parts usage to ensure accurate billing.

The role requires vocational training in hydraulics and diesel engines, extensive field experience, and willingness to travel. You will diagnose, repair, and service large units and be a key company representative on customer sites.

Qualifications

• Some vocational schooling in hydraulics and diesel engine repair.
• Three years on-the-job diesel mechanics and hydraulics experience; schooling can substitute some experience.
• Welding skills encouraged; AWSD14 Welding Test may be required for future promotions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses malfunctions and repairs/ replaces worn parts; installs new assemblies.
• Tests machines on delivery, inspections, and after repairs to ensure operation.
• Maintains service logs, reports customer data, and billing information.
• Trains new servicemen or supervises a team on large repair jobs.

Skills
