Job summary

The Taylor Group is seeking a Field Service Mechanic in Nokomis, FL to service Taylor equipment at customer sites. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic and diesel systems and train operators on safe machine use.

You will plan travel with the Service Supervisor, maintain service records, and ensure timely, accurate reporting for billing. DOT certification and a valid license are required, as is willingness to overnight travel when needed.

Qualifications

• Requires DOT certification and valid driver’s license.
• Three years of on-the-job experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulics.
• Some vocational schooling in hydraulics and diesel engine repair.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and basic computer skills.
• Willingness to overnight travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Consults with Service Supervisor to plan effective work and travel, prioritizing customer needs.
• Diagnoses malfunctions: repairs or replaces worn parts; installs new assemblies.
• Provides tools and parts and arranges for on-site repair at customer premises.
• Inspects and tests machines at delivery, during maintenance, and after repairs.
• Reports detailed information for billing: customer name, machine, malfunction, hours, mileage.
• Trains or mentors junior servicemen; may supervise a team on large jobs.
• Maintains neat appearance and keeps service truck clean and organized.
• Completes all required paperwork in a timely manner.
