Job summary

The Taylor Group is seeking a skilled Field Service Mechanic to service Taylor equipment at customer sites throughout the Gonzales, LA area. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel hydraulics while training teammates and ensuring safety and quality in every job.

Responsibilities include planning travel with service supervisors, reporting detailed job data for billing, and occasionally staying overnight at out-of-town locations.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, climb and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record for company vehicle use.
• DOT certification required (must be 21+).
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Consult with Service Supervisor to plan effective work and travel.
• Diagnose malfunctions: repair or replace worn parts; adjust devices and controls.
• Provide tools and arrange facilities for repair work at customer premises.
• Inspect and test machines upon delivery and after repair to ensure proper operation.
• Report customer details, machine description, issues, and time spent to enable proper billing.
• Train less experienced technicians and supervise teams on large repair jobs when needed.
• Complete work orders and paperwork promptly.
