Job summary

K Group Companies is seeking a Field Service Technician Level II to support the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. You will perform Level I responsibilities and lead installation teams, configure and program devices, and oversee system commissioning with customer training at a basic operations level.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in construction trades, strong electrical and telecom knowledge, and experience with nurse call, CCTV, and access systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years with a previous construction trade.
• Advanced knowledge of electricity (high and/or low voltage).
• Hands-on/field experience from previous work experience.
• Basic telecommunication knowledge (TCP/IP, general networking, computers, VoIP).
• Ability to identify and use common low voltage cabling.
• Working knowledge of IT networking, configurations and IP addressing; ability to read architectural drawings.
• Team management/supervisor experience.
• Experience completing projects within scope.
• 1+ year knowledge in fire, CCTV, intrusion, emergency nurse call systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have valid US Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Execute all Level I installer roles and responsibilities per documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational skills in handling project and service tickets with prompt updates.
• Understand project scopes and service expectations and take accountability for tasks.
• Lead team by delegating tasks and fostering collaboration.
• Mentor Level 1 installers and solicit feedback for improvements.
• Maintain communication with Project Delivery Coordinators, Project Managers, and customers.
• Work with nurse call, card access, and video surveillance systems on diverse projects.
• Pursue ongoing professional development, focusing on leadership and communication.
• Perform FAT testing of products before installation and ensure quality standards.
• Configure and commission systems to deliver reliable, fully operational solutions.
