Job summary

IEM is seeking an experienced field service professional to perform start-up, commissioning, testing, and repair of electrical equipment, including switchboards and power products. This role requires independent work, travel, and collaboration with project teams to resolve complex field issues.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in electrical/field service, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to mentor junior technicians while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution systems preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of related electrical/field service experience.
• Minimum 2+ years supporting switchgear start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, or field service.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform start-up, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of IEM equipment.
• Install, inspect, and support electrical/ mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Lead or support complex field service activities and resolve critical commissioning needs.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, clients, Project Managers and internal teams.
• Analyze failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control wiring, networking equipment, and related issues.
• Document service activities, root cause analysis, and follow-up items.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to Level I/II technicians.
