Job summary

Rivian Automotive seeks an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to serve as technical expert and leader in field operations. Based primarily at a service center, you may travel to remote locations or production plants for advanced support and diagnostics.

The role requires mentoring junior technicians, extensive HV/LV diagnostics, and leadership to drive continuous improvement in repair workflows. Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

Minimum age 21 years old.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
Ability to travel to regional locations or production plants.
5 to 8+ years automotive repair experience.
3 to 8+ years HV experience.
Experience in leadership roles or supervision.
State mechanic certifications where required by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, installations, and inspections in service centers or field settings.
Provide high-level diagnostic guidance to field service teams and remote diagnostics when needed.
Coach, mentor, and train junior technicians and internal partners; lead problem-solving.
Utilize diagnostic tools (PICO-Scope, PCAN, Kavaser Memorator, breakout boxes) for complex faults.
Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive process improvements.
Oversee complex parts operations, including ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing.
Produce documentation and provide root-cause analysis to engineering and field teams.
Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams during escalations.
