Job summary

Lam Research in New Mexico is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Customer Support group. You will perform on-site repair, installation, and maintenance of advanced semiconductor equipment at customer sites, ensuring peak performance and minimal downtime.

You will diagnose issues, leverage product knowledge from Lam, and coordinate with customers and internal teams. The role requires travel, clean-room work, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field; 5+ years experience, or Master’s with 3+ years.
• Experience with installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and manuals.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for customer sites.
• Able to work in clean room environments with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site repair, maintenance, and installation/start-up services for Lam’s semiconductor systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and isolate issues to component level to minimize downtime.
• Stay updated on Lam equipment and products via training and certification.
• Assist in complex field modifications and coordinate activities with Lam and customers.
• Act as a subject matter expert and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Develop customer action plans and communicate opportunities and challenges clearly.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical instruction.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field

Master’s degree with 3+ years
