Job summary

Lam Research seeks a Field Service Engineer in Albuquerque to deliver on-site repair, installation, and startup services for our semiconductor systems, ensuring operational excellence for customers.

You will troubleshoot to the component level, advise customers, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate field activities. Travel domestically and internationally is required; cleanroom work and PPE are part of daily duties with a focus on safety, quality, and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s with 3+ years.
• Experience installing, maintaining, repairing, or troubleshooting semiconductor capital equipment.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and manuals.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; able to work varied shifts.
• Clean room environment experience and PPE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site repair, maintenance, and installation/relocation start-up services for Lam’s complex systems.
• Analyze problems, troubleshoot, diagnose to component level, and minimize downtime.
• Stay current on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through training.
• Assist with complex field modifications and coordinate with customers.
• Serve as a Lam SME, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot and create customer response action plans.
• Discuss opportunities and challenges transparently with customers.
• Provide technical instruction and mentoring for junior engineers.
