Job summary

Lam Research Boise is seeking a skilled field service professional to provide on-site repair and maintenance of complex electro-mechanical semiconductor equipment. You will troubleshoot to component level, lead installations, and coordinate startup/checkout activities. Travel frequently to customer sites is required.

The role emphasizes mentoring engineers, interpreting schematics, and maintaining customer relations while upholding safety standards in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent; 5+ years field experience or AS degree with 6+ years in semiconductor equipment.
• Experience in installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
• Clean room environment experience and PPE use.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and diagrams.
• Ability to interpret operation manuals to determine root causes of tool failures.
• Proficiency with MS Office and data analysis tools.
• Ability to travel frequently and work with customers onsite.
• Work independently and with teams; adapt to changing workloads.
• Follow customer site rules and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site repair and maintenance of complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and diagnose to component level.
• Lead installations and relocations; assist startup and checkout.
• Remain up to date with equipment/tools via training and materials.
• Mentor Engineer Level 1 and 2; provide on-site instruction to subcontractors/customers.
• Represent Lam professionally to customers and maintain satisfaction.
• Prepare and present escalation action plans and status updates.
