Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Field Process Engineer to support customer installations and optimize Lam equipment in a Boise-based role. You will lead process improvements, work with field teams, and communicate results to customers.

You will collaborate across engineering and service teams, contributing to new technology deployments, DOE/SPC understanding, and continuous improvement initiatives. A strong customer focus and cleanroom experience are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS/BS with required years of experience as listed in qualifications.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer relationship skills.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and on-call if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide process support, installation, and improvement of Lam equipment at customer sites.
• Serve as field support for beta sites, evaluations, or first-in-fab installations.
• Design experiments, collect data, analyze results, and generate reports to optimize device architecture.
• Collaborate with customers to meet requirements for new technology processes and address deviations.
• Develop new or modified processes and cooperate with hardware engineering to define chamber requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and customers to understand needs and roadmaps.
• Represent Lam to customers and maintain exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Present technical and marketing materials and keep customers informed about products and services.
• Provide leadership and instruction for Field Service Engineers and technicians on installs and repairs.
• Collaborate with Field Service Engineers on complex problems impacting process output.
• Coordinate statistical analysis of failure rates and develop CIP.
• Recommend design changes to key technical solutions and monitor performance trends.
