Job summary

Lam Research in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, repair, and maintain Lam’s semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites. You will troubleshoot complex systems, liaise with multiple teams, and ensure operational excellence in the field.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field, strong schematics interpretation, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including flexible shifts and on-call work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
• Able to travel frequently, domestically and internationally, based on customer needs, flexibility to work varied shifts including overtime.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site repair, maintenance service, and installation/relocation start-up services of Lam’s complex systems at customer sites.
• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and isolate issues to component level to minimize downtime and interruptions.
• Stay up-to-date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through learning and certification.
• Assist in complex field modifications and updates, maintaining records to coordinate activities between Lam and the customer.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot and create customer action plans to support customer needs.
• Discuss opportunities and challenges with customers to increase trust.
• Provide technical instruction and mentoring to junior engineers.
