Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to supervise and support a regional service team in Charleston, SC. You will lead field work, perform advanced troubleshooting, and ensure project delivery meets safety and quality standards.

Youll coordinate with engineers, manage budgets and schedules, prepare proposals, and write clear reports. Willingness to travel up to 50% and work flexible hours is required to support critical power systems and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Graduate Engineer with BSEE/BSME and six years' experience.
• Alternative: electrical technical school or military equivalent with nine years' experience.
• High school education or equivalent with ten years' experience.
• NETA 3 Certification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and assist field service engineers and technicians while responsible for all aspects of field service work in the area.
• Perform complex troubleshooting, specialized tests, inspections, and appraisals on electrical apparatus and electrical systems.
• Lead large projects requiring specialized skills such as generator acceptance tests, commissioning of larger substations, supervising turnkey projects, and electrical consultations.
• Develop tests and inspections in new areas of field services.
• Perform job estimating, proposals, fieldwork, scheduling, reports, and billing.
• Write complete, detailed reports promptly at end of project and process job billing.
• Interface with clients and support business development activities.
• Supervise 1+ Senior Field Engineer, Field Engineer, and/or Technician.
