Job summary

PwrQ Holdings LLC in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Level 5 Field Service Engineer to lead on-site service for medium- and high-voltage switchgear. You will install, commission, troubleshoot, and modernize complex equipment while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with customer teams.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, protection relay work, safety compliance, and thorough field reporting. Travel 50–80% and strong PLC/CID knowledge will help ensure successful outages and project timelines.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of field experience with MV/HV switchgear.
Ability to lead field crews and manage on-site execution.
Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E/OSHA safety practices.
Proven ability to read schematics and troubleshoot.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

Lead field execution for switchgear installation, commissioning, and service.
Plan and perform advanced diagnostics for equipment and protection/control issues.
Perform and direct testing and verification of protection relay settings.
Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-lines; verify as-built conditions.
Coordinate with PMs, engineering, factory, and supply chain on parts and issues.
Mentor junior engineers/technicians and provide on-site safety briefings.
Support outages, turnarounds, and customer training as needed.
