Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Field Service Engineer 2 (Non Exempt) to perform on-site installation, servicing, and commissioning of advanced metrology equipment with travel to customer sites.

You will diagnose and repair complex systems, interpret drawings and documentation, and provide clear technical guidance to customers while maintaining strong communication with internal teams. A bachelor’s degree in engineering and robust problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose complex issues.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and docs.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, with customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel for on-site customer support and project work.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site installation, service, and commissioning of complex equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware and software components.
• Instruct customers in operation and maintenance of systems.
• Serve as liaison with customers on technical and administrative matters.
• Travel to customer sites as required for support and training.
