Job summary

Onto Innovation seeks a highly skilled Field Service Engineer (Level 3) based in Phoenix, AZ to support advanced metrology and inspection systems. You will be the primary technical contact for customers, performing on-site installation, calibration, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs while diagnosing complex issues.

You will collaborate with engineering teams, manage escalations, document FSRs, and provide feedback for product improvements. Willingness to travel up to 75% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of semiconductor field service experience (alternative pathway).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex metrology and inspection systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site installation, upgrades, calibration, maintenance, and repair of metrology and inspection tools.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Manage escalations and customer situations, delivering detailed Field Service Reports.
• Act as liaison between factory and customers for data collection and reliability analysis.
• Support beta programs and provide technical phone support; participate in on-call rotations.
