Job summary

No two property claims are the same, and our team focuses on delivering exceptional service while building lasting relationships with customers. As a Field Claims Specialist, you’ll resolve serious exposure claims, evaluate liability, and negotiate settlements according to best practices.

You will deploy to various regions, travel up to 80% as needed, and may undergo CAT duties. Strong communication, adaptability, and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Five years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Solid experience with Xactimate.
• Solid experience writing own estimates and handling claims start to finish.
• Strong customer service competency.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively with little direction, including complex losses.
• Determines proper policy coverages and applies standard methodologies to conclude cases.
• Opens, closes and adjusts reserves to ensure reserve adequacy and follows procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of local industry repair procedures and pricing.
• Provides leadership to less experienced claims associates and mentoring as assigned by management.
• Partners with SIU and Subrogation to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities.
• Initiates and conducts follow-ups using claims systems and related tools.
• Delivers outstanding service to Nationwide customers and stakeholders.
