Job summary

Farmers Insurance is seeking a Field Adjuster in the Western Massachusetts territory, including Springfield. This remote field role requires travel to policyholder homes to assess property damage, negotiate settlements, and utilize claims software with a company vehicle and laptop.

The position involves potential CAT deployments annually and an hourly wage with overtime opportunities based on business needs and volume.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service experience.
• Construction or Insurance experience desirable.
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
• Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Proficiency with smartphones and applications.
• Willing to learn about insurance policies and property damage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations by visiting policyholders’ residences to assess property damage and negotiate settlements.
• Use claims software, a company car, and a laptop to write estimates.
• Evaluate subrogation opportunities and report incidents of theft or arson.
• Engage with stakeholders including policyholders, agents, witnesses, and investigators.
• Travel to and from policyholder homes; participate in CAT deployments when needed.
• Promote safety and adhere to company standards.
