Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Field Property Adjuster for the Bangor, Maine territory. This remote Full-time/Exempt role focuses on independent management of moderate to high-value field property claims with travel on short notice and CAT responses when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with claim handling; typical 5–10 years adjusting.
• Must hold state adjuster licenses, CE credits, and a valid driver’s license.
• Strong Xactimate proficiency; Level II certification preferred.
• Knowledge of local geography, regulations, safety agencies, and insurer relations.
• Skilled in negotiation and making informed, compliant decisions.
• Highly organized; able to manage complex workflows and priorities.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site as needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage field property claims including CAT responses.
• Lead investigations, assess coverage, and issue reservation letters.
• Identify subrogation potential and coordinate recovery efforts.
• Maintain detailed claim records and regulatory-compliant reports.
• Coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents.
• Mentor junior adjusters and contribute to training.
