Job summary

Cox Fleet, headquartered in Indianapolis, provides on-site mobile maintenance for trucks and trailers across the country. We are hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light repairs in field environments.

Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical and mechanical systems, handling truck and trailer diagnostics, and using our TRAIT app to document work. This role requires ASE T8 and DOT compliance, with company truck support and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3 years related field experience or 5 years related field experience considered.
• Provide set of hand tools as needed to perform duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory background check and DOT physical prerequisites.
• Possess valid DOT medical card or meet alternative requirements as described.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on trucks and trailers.
• Manage parts inventory and service truck; document findings in RO via TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms and related documentation in a timely fashion.
• Maintain high productivity and safe operation of equipment and company vehicle.
