Job summary

Terracon is seeking a field testing, observation and inspection professional to perform construction materials testing including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt and steel. Responsible for data collection, reporting, equipment maintenance, and safety adherence in varied project environments.

Travel up to 100% may be required, with strong collaboration across PMs, technicians, and client representatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.
• Experience with laptop use and Microsoft Word and Excel
• Willingness to travel up to 100% and for extended periods without home travel.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as required.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and procedures.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before submittal to the Project Manager.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM.
• Trains lower level technicians and may supervise activities of others.
• May interact with client and site personnel as directed by the PM.
• May assist Project Manager in development of scope for testing and inspection services.
• Maintains equipment operation and calibration.
• Performs advanced fieldwork and assists with project management.
• Plan, schedule and dispatch Technicians to project sites based on skill set and project needs.
• Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with PM/Office Managers.
• Track projects in CMELMS and report status to clients and management.
• Follow safety rules and report issues to management.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and in teams across locations.
