Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Traveling Construction Materials Technician to perform field testing, observation, and inspection across multiple high-profile projects nationwide. The role requires 100% travel within the Eastern Midwest division, including Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

You will handle materials testing for soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel, and report results to the project manager. A valid driver’s license and basic MS Word/Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of relevant field testing or related experience preferred.
• Ability to operate laptop for documentation using Word/Excel.
• Valid driver’s license with clean or acceptable history.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing, observation, and inspection of materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel).
• Prepare and submit data and reports to the Project Manager in written and digital form.
• Maintain equipment and drive to project sites while following safety practices.
• Coordinate with project team and client representatives as required.
• Assist scheduling and dispatch of technicians to sites as needed.
• Ensure quality standards across projects and adhere to protocols.
