Job summary

Terracon is seeking a field/lab technician to perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials across soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. You will communicate with project managers, technicians, and client representatives, and prepare reports of findings.

Responsibilities include data tabulation, sample transport, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety standards on site and in the lab. Prior testing experience and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant field/lab testing experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with laptop computers and Microsoft Word/Excel.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed per procedures.
• Documents findings clearly and prepares written/digital reports.
• Performs basic data analysis and verifies accuracy before submission to PM.
• Communicates information to PM and project team as directed.
• Lead or train lower level technicians as needed; maintain equipment calibration.
• Adheres to safety standards and participates in pre-task planning.
