Job summary

Terracon seeks a Traveling Construction Materials Technician to join our field testing team. This role requires 100% travel to support projects across the Gulf Coast division and beyond, including Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia.

You will perform field testing, observation, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel, and communicate findings to project managers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months experience required.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% and for extended periods without home travel.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including overtime, weekends, and extended shifts; valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Travel 100% of the time to work on multiple high-profile projects across various regions.
• Perform field testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel).
• Communicate with Project Manager, engineering technicians, client and contractor personnel regarding site requirements and test results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory with documentation for testing and analysis.
• Prepare and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmission to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas; assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.
