Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS is seeking a Senior Field Support Specialist in the Division of Information Systems to provide complex applications and end-user computing support, including software and hardware installations, configurations, testing, and tier 2 troubleshooting.

You will guide and mentor field staff, collaborate with end users to define system requirements, manage upgrades and patches, and contribute to documentation and monthly incident reporting.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree with two years of field support or technical support experience.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, computer systems, and software applications functionality.
• Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical personnel; strong verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert end-user support including complex problem diagnosis and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborates with users to define requirements and evaluates solutions; ensures upgrades meet business needs.
• Mentors and trains junior staff; monitors quality and maintains documentation.
• Generates monthly incident reports and supports long-range planning for end-user computing environments.
