Job summary

STV is seeking Senior Field Inspectors to join the firm based in our New York City, NY offices. The position reports to Field offices and requires flexibility to work swing, night, or weekend shifts.

Responsibilities include inspecting conditions and work, preparing reports, reviewing plans, and ensuring safety and quality compliance. Candidates should have a relevant engineering degree, 5+ years of construction inspection experience, and the ability to obtain TWIC/SWAC if needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in construction supervision/inspection.
• Experience with rail, tunnel, structural, station preferred.
• Experience with substations preferred.
• Advanced certifications preferred (NICET, ACI, etc.).
• Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC Background Check at High Level.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on existing conditions, work being performed, and completed work for quality, completeness, and accuracy.
• Prepare written documentation, including daily work reports, controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.
• Review and mark plans and specifications as needed to ensure and track compliance with the work performed.
• Observe work conditions for compliance to applicable safety regulations.
• Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously; and follow through on projects to successful completion.
• Communicate with various parties on the progress of the work in a timely manner.
• Other related duties and tasks as required.
