Job summary

STV is seeking Field Inspectors to join the firm based in our New York City, NY offices.

These positions will report to Field offices.*****This position must have the flexibility to work shifts as needed including swing, night, or weekends***** Responsibilities include performing inspections on existing conditions, preparing written reports, reviewing plans for compliance, observing safety, and coordinating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in construction supervision/inspection.
• Experience with rail, tunnel, structural, station preferred.
• Experience with substations preferred.
• Advanced certifications preferred (NICET, ACI, etc.).
• Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC Background Check at High Level.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on existing conditions, work being performed, and completed work for quality, completeness, and accuracy.
• Prepare written documentation, including daily work reports, controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.
• Review and mark plans and specifications to ensure compliance with the work performed.
• Observe work conditions for compliance with safety regulations.
• Prioritize conflicting needs and drive projects to completion.
• Communicate progress with various parties in a timely manner.
• Other related duties as required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

1+ year experience in construction supervision/inspection

Fluent English (written and spoken)

Strong written/verbal communication

Ability to pass TWIC and/or SWAC Background Check
