Job summary

Tectonic is seeking full-time Construction Site Inspectors & Engineers with rail transit experience for upcoming MTA Transit projects in NYC and surrounding regions. The role involves inspecting rail infrastructure elements, monitoring contractor activities, and preparing daily field reports.

The candidate should have at least 2 years in rail transit inspection, a relevant BS degree, NICET certification preferred, and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years rail transit inspection or equivalent rail design/construction experience
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs and build documents
• Ability to communicate project requirements and test results to stakeholders
• Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection on rail transit projects (stations, yards, tracks, bridges, etc.).
• Monitor contractor activities and use field testing equipment to complete inspections.
• Prepare daily field inspection reports and communicate deficiencies to PMs and clients.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and work orders; ensure safety and quality management protocols.
• Support project completion through proactive documentation and coordination.
