Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. seeks a skilled technician to install, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems across transmission and distribution sites.

You will interpret schematics, perform electrical testing with equipment like Doble, Omicron, Megger, and participate in commissioning, with travel up to 25–50% as needed. Emphasis on safety, standards, and collaboration with engineers and clients to ensure reliable power systems.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant electrical experience or an associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant electrical experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 1+ year of relevant electrical experience.
• U.S. work authorization is required.
• NETA / NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical testing.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.
• Ability to travel up to 25–50% and to work in industrial, data center, and utility environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, program, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems.
• Analyze test results and interpret electrical diagrams to locate faults.
• Coordinate testing and repairs with other department personnel.
• Perform maintenance and testing of relays and associated equipment.
• Participate in emergency call outs and ensure safety compliance.
