Job summary

IES is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services seeking a Field Engineer I - Structured Cabling to install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment. You will troubleshoot field problems and interpret drawings, specifications, and manuals to support project kickoff and field installation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; degree preferred.
• 3–4 years of commercial low voltage/structured cabling experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Able to travel within branch/regional territory.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment in field service.
• Review drawings, create shop drawings and submittals.
• Lead field operations with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate site walks and pre-construction activities.
• Support sales with product demonstrations.
• Maintain project punch lists and closeouts.
• Interface with subcontractors and estimators.
