Job summary

ERM is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant, Field Lead Archaeologist to direct fieldwork and regulatory analysis across the United States. The role emphasizes protecting cultural resources while guiding project planning and environmental decisions.

The position involves a mix of field and office work with travel to field sites, typically up to 75% during peak season. A Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience are required, with higher preference for 4+ years.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience; 4+ preferred.
• Eligibility for BLM, ARPA and state cultural resource permits.
• Strong knowledge of NHPA Section 106 regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological surveys, testing, data recovery and monitoring.
• Prepare technical report sections for cultural resource investigations.
• Perform archival and desktop research to support analyses.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies including SHPO and BLM.
• Support environmental permitting and cross-functional teams.
• Represent ERM in client, stakeholder and agency interactions.
