Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Foreman to lead installation crews and oversee fiber optic infrastructure projects. This role focuses on field leadership, safety, and ensuring on-time delivery while maintaining high workmanship standards.

The candidate should have hands-on fiber installation experience, strong leadership, and expertise in testing, splicing, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks. Travel to project sites will be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fiber optic installation experience.
• Experience leading fiber crews or small field teams.
• Knowledge of SMF and MMF fiber systems.
• Experience terminating LC, SC, ST, FC, and MPO/MTP connectors.
• OTDR testing, loss analysis, and troubleshooting.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Supervise multiple fiber installation crews and ensure safe, efficient project execution.
• Coordinate daily activities with Project Managers to meet schedules and budgets.
• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling in commercial and industrial environments.
• Perform fusion and mechanical splicing for indoor and outdoor fiber systems.
• Build and maintain telecommunications rooms with racks, patch panels, and enclosures.
• Conduct OTDR, loss, and continuity testing and document results.
• Calculate and verify fiber loss budgets per industry standards.
• Lead daily safety meetings and enforce safety protocols.
• Complete project documentation including timesheets, work orders, and change orders.
• Serve as the primary field liaison between crews and project leadership.
