Job summary

CHS Inc. is seeking a Senior Purchasing Specialist to consolidate sourcing for feed ingredients across the U.S., negotiating prices, terms and lead times to ensure on‑time, full-order fulfillment.

Preference is given to candidates located in the Sioux Falls, SD or St. Paul, MN areas, with strong knowledge of the feed industry and ERP order processing. CHS offers a competitive rewards package and opportunities to influence purchasing strategy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• 4+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, purchasing and commodity trading/merchandising
• Pre-employment screenings may be required

Responsibilities

• Review sources of supply and vendors to select best options
• Negotiate prices, terms and delivery for feed ingredients
• Evaluate sources, create purchase orders and contracts
• Place orders with vendors and complete ERP purchase orders
• Contact vendors for quality discrepancies and resolve issues
• Communicate ingredient supply issues to teams and Purchasing manager
• Collaborate with Global Grain Marketing to reduce cost of goods
• Build relationships with Plant Managers and Production Teams
• Develop purchasing strategies for ingredients
• Maintain a strong safety culture and follow policies
• Perform other duties as needed
