Job summary

CHS Inc. is seeking a Senior Ingredient Buyer to support our Animal Nutrition team. This remote role will source commodities and ingredients for feed manufacturing across the U.S., with an emphasis on clear written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and a passion for the work.

Preferred candidates are located in the Sioux Falls, SD or St. Paul, MN area, and must bring strong negotiation and supply chain experience to build relationships with vendors, plant managers and production

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 4+ years in supply chain management, procurement, purchasing or commodity trading/merchandising.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Animal Science/Nutrition or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Review sources and select vendors based on information.
• Negotiate prices, terms and delivery of feed ingredients to keep orders on time.
• Evaluate alternative sources and create purchase orders and contracts.
• Place orders in the ERP and contact vendors for quality discrepancies.
• Communicate ingredient supply issues to other functions and Purchasing manager.
• Collaborate with Global Grain Marketing to reduce cost of goods.
• Build strong relationships with Plant Managers and Production Teams.
• Develop purchasing strategies for ingredients.
• Maintain safety policies and identify workplace hazards.
