Job summary

CHS Inc. is seeking a Senior Ingredient Buyer for a remote role, preferably located in Sioux Falls, SD or St. Paul, MN.

You will source ingredients for feed manufacturing, negotiate with suppliers, and manage purchase orders across the ERP system while aligning with safety and quality standards. Key responsibilities include supplier evaluation, cost reduction collaboration with Global Grain Marketing, and strong vendor relationships with plant operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, purchasing and commodity trading/merchandising.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in related field.
• Strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Experience in animal nutrition purchasing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and select the best sources of supply, and select vendors based off that information.
• Negotiate prices, terms and delivery of feed ingredients to keep our customers’ orders in full and on time.
• Create purchase orders and contracts when applicable; place orders in the ERP.
• Coordinate with vendors on quality discrepancies and address issues quickly.
• Develop purchasing strategies for ingredients.
• Collaborate with Global Grain Marketing to reduce cost of goods sold.
• Build relationships with Plant Managers and Production Teams.
• Maintain safety culture and follow all safety policies and regulations.
