Job summary

MnDOT seeks an Accounting Officer Senior in St. Paul to analyze federal project costs, prepare and approve FHWA vouchers, and ensure accurate reflection of costs and revenues to maximize federal funds.

The role requires GAAP knowledge, experience with project funding codes, and proficiency with Oracle PeopleSoft and SWIFT, with a hybrid schedule including potential telework and office days. Strong organization and communication skills are essential to coordinate across divisions and with funding

Qualifications

• Three years of professional accounting or finance experience.
• Knowledge and experience interpreting GAAP and accounting, cost allocations, and project funding requirements.
• Experience reviewing project funding costs and preparing project funding information.
• Experience analyzing financial documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Experience working with Oracle PeopleSoft, SWIFT or other governmental financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze federal project costs and prepare FHWA final vouchers.
• Ensure accurate reflection of costs and revenues to maximize federal funds.
• Manage modifications to federal funding throughout a project lifecycle.
• Monitor and approve weekly FHWA billing for timely reimbursement.
• Maintain data on open federal projects and perform related financial tasks.
