Job summary

The State of Minnesota seeks a BRASS Code Accounting Officer Senior within the Department of Human Services. Lead the BRASS framework development, ensure GAAP-adherent financial reporting, and provide guidance to counties, Tribes, and program staff for statewide fiscal accuracy.

Position offers day shift, on-site hours in St. Paul with potential telework eligibility for Minnesota residents under supervisory approval.

Qualifications

• Two years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP for managing accounting functions.
• Knowledge of financial systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Interpreting and analyzing fiscal data, reports, and records.
• Presentations, meeting facilitation, and training involving fiscal and non-fiscal teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the FOD lead for BRASS development, compliance, and updates.
• Develop and refine BRASS classification structure for accurate reporting.
• Maintain BRASS docs and guidance for program staff and local agencies.
• Provide BRASS guidance to counties and Tribes for statewide reporting.
• Coordinate BRASS alignment with SSIS/CCWIS to reflect program needs.
• Cross-train and back up DHS SEAGR and Social Service Fund County Reporting System.
