Job summary

State of Minnesota seeks an Accounting Officer to support the Public Facilities Authority’s financial operations. You will handle AP/AR, review transactions, and maintain records for a large loan/grant portfolio.

The role involves preparing financial reports, supporting budgets, and collaborating with MPFA staff and federal partners to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. Telework eligibility is noted, with a standard 8:00 AM–4:30 PM daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
• Advanced Excel and Access skills for analysis and data handling.
• Experience with accounts payable/receivable and general ledger processes.
• Familiarity with grant and loan disbursement workflows.
• Proficiency with accounting or financial management systems such as SWIFT.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounts payable and receivable tasks, review and code financial transactions.
• Process loan disbursements and loan repayments; maintain accurate records.
• Prepare financial reports and support budget development.
• Collaborate with MPFA staff and partner agencies to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Develop and improve MPFA data management and reporting systems.
