Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a highly skilled Construction (QA) Inspector for Louisville, KY, to oversee quality control on federal construction projects and ensure compliance with plans and specifications. You will perform inspections, generate surveillance reports, and support safety and scheduling efforts on site.

The role requires extensive experience with DoD/USACE projects, vertical construction, and knowledge of codes such as NFPA, NEC, IPC, and ASHRAE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of applicable experience on construction contract administration and inspection projects on large complex federal DoD/USACE projects preferred.
• Experience with vertical construction projects; hospital construction experience highly preferred.
• Experience with relevant construction/building codes is needed.
• Specialized skills/codes may be required: NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 70 NEC, IPC Plumbing, NFPA 13/72 Fire Protection, ASHRAE/NEBB HVAC, Building Commissioning, IT/IDS communication, patient transport systems, welding inspection, environmental HAZWOPER, site sampling.
• Experience with RMS 3.0; three-phase inspection process; OSHA EM 385-1-1 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers surveillance reports on all phases of construction for compliance with plans and specifications to government personnel.
• Provides technical expertise to ensure project compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions.
• Performs inspections and completes daily site reports including progress, safety, and subcontractor manpower.
• Observes construction phases for compliance with schedules and shop drawings; identifies problems and recommends changes.
• Prepares complete engineering plans or reports.
• Assists in all phases of the contract modification process.
• Reviews contractor plans and submittals for approval actions, including schedules, environmental, safety and QC programs.
• Monitors progress and advises project team of potential delay.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
